SPECIAL - WORLD TRIAL 2008

Once every three years the World Championship Sheepherding Trials is held. At the World Trial in Llandeilo in Wales 2008, there were 242 handlers from 22 countries competing with their border collies for this title, trofee and honour. KJ and I were one of them!

Start outrun qualification Lift
Their were handlers from all over the world representing their country: Tsjech Republic, Portugal, the Faeröer, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Italy, France, Switserland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, even Canada, Australië, New Zealand, the USA, and of course the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland!

KJ and I were selected for the semi-final (by the best 40 dogs) where sadly our journey towards a higher goal ended. But I am very proud of us to compete with the very best of the world and it was a great privilege to be there as team member for the Netherlands.

I hope that I can qualify myself for  the next World Trial 2011 in  Penrith (Northern England).
