| INTRODUCTION |
| Welcome on my website; my name is John Pluta, born on 22 December 1959. Since 2004 I am actively busy with sheep trialling with my dogs Killiebrae Jake, KJ (Killiebrae Joe), Mac and since January 2010 with my new dog Killiebrae Spot. |
|
At the end of 2002 Jake emigrated at the age of 8 months old, from Derek Scrimgeour’s on Lonscale farm, lain in the splendid Lake district in the north of England to the Netherlands. Only 15 months old, Jake already obtained his starting permit. That Jake was very promising was a fact, he won his fourth trial (a nursery promotion trial in Venlo) and when he reached the age of 2 he entered the Qualification League. He placed himself in the Dutch team for the World trial in 2008. In 2008 he reached the 3rd and in 2009 the 2nd place at the Dutch Open. Jake will reach the age of 8 years old in may and our partnership which in the past was sometimes difficult is getting better and better. I think that Jake’s best years still have to come.
Jake has been used as a stud dog a few times. He has given his excellent working skills to some of his off spring. Two dogs are trialling in the Qualification Class in the Netherlands, and another was young dog of the year in Denmark 2007.
In 2005, KJ (Killiebrae Joe) followed. Derek told me that KJ was a very promising trial dog and no word of that had been a lie. KJ also got his starting permit very fast and went up to the qualification league within one season. What KJ in the last 2 years has shown is impressive (see his result list) He has been competing in the Dutch Qualification league for a few years now and reached the semi finals at the world trial 2008 in Llandeilo (Wales). He was 2nd in the Dutch Open 2008, but revenged in 2009 when he won this prestigious international trial with 100 competitors.
In 2009 he reached the Dutch team for the European Championship in Switzerland. Further he has won a lot of other prices. In 2009 I started with Mac. Mac also got his starting permit very fast. He has already promoted after 3 trials to the Qualification Class. Mac won in 2009 the International Holland – Belgium in the Novice Class. I’m very charmed with his style and work desire. He is now 5 years old, and I hope to be able to bring Mac to the level of my Killiebrae Dogs in the next 2 years.
In January 2010 I got my new young dog Killiebrae Spot, also from Derreck Scrimgeours Lonscale Farm. Spot was born in January 2009 and has just reached the age of 1 year old. Spot is very talented and I hope that you will hear a lot of him in the future.
At this moment I have 2 training locations namely: Avantis in Heerlen and for the big work, an area for sailplanes in Schinveld. Here I train with my dogs and my sheep (mainly the German Heidschnuck) to further competent my skills of sheepdogtrialling. On Avantis I give lessons for beginning and progressed dogs.
